Git for folders in iPhone Files
Keep editing notes, Markdown, and project files in the app you prefer. LocalGit links a compatible On My iPhone folder to a writable GitHub branch, so you can review changes, synchronize, and browse the history of individual files.
How to use it
Choose a repository
Connect GitHub and select a repository you can push to.
Link a local folder
Choose a folder under On My iPhone. The folder stays accessible to other apps through Files.
Edit, review, synchronize
Edit in your preferred app, review changed paths in LocalGit, then tap Synchronize.
Check your versioned copy
Confirm synchronization succeeded and inspect the files on GitHub. File history in LocalGit lets you browse committed versions; ignored files and changes not yet synchronized are outside that remote copy.
Check the fit
iCloud Drive folders are not supported. Stop editing the linked folder while a Git action runs. Synchronization needs a network connection.
